Roam like at home – EU initiative to abolish roaming rates

As of June 15th 2017, roaming rates within the EU will be abolished. This means that any resident within the EU can go to another EU nation and use their device as if they were in their home country. This is great news as there is no more bill shock, no more worrying about whether finding those directions will cost an arm and a leg anymore. Exceptions to this is if you end up spending more time roaming in a particular nation than you do at home, your operator may contact you and may charge you for this. This prevents customers from taking out the cheapest option from a country and using that all the time.
