Google ready to give $800,000,000 to LG Display
According to Reuters, Google are set to invest in LG Display in the hope of getting curved displays for their next smartphone. Whether this will happen on the Pixel 2, which is reckoned to be released in October time this year, remains to be seen. Curved displays are one way of reducing bezel on a phone, something that the Pixel had issues with (personally I don’t mind it). Google are hoping to get in on the curved action after Samsung has had success with the Galaxy series of devices and with the new S8 & S8+ both having curved displays, they must be seen to at least follow and hopefully innovate on top of that.
I have contacted Google for comment but yet to hear back from them.
Do you think having a curved display will help the next Google Pixel? Let us know your thoughts.
